CLASSIFICATION OF PERMITS
Classification of practice permits
Level 1 practice permit issued by CNCAN to the persons designated by the authorization holder with responsibilities for radiological safety in the conduct of activities in the nuclear field with insignificant radiological risk.
Level 1 practice permit issued , as the case may be, by the legally established entity undergoing authorization, or by the authorization holder, to its own personnel, which allows the holders to perform activities, in the field and speciality for which it was issued, under the supervision of a person holding a level 1, 2 or 3 practice permit issued by CNCAN.
- Level 1 practice permits allow the holders to carry out activities, in the field and speciality for which they were issued, for the authorization holder that issued them or that is mentioned by CNCAN in the practice permit.
Level 2 practice permit issued, as a rule, by CNCAN, at the request of the authorization holder, for personnel carrying out activities in the nuclear field with significant radiological risk, which allows the holders to have responsibilities relating to radiological safety in the controlled/supervised area or to lead activities with radiation sources or with nuclear installations, in the field and speciality for which the permit was issued.
Level 2 practice permit issued by the authorization holder for its own personnel carrying out nuclear activities in the authorized field. This type of permit is issued only if the authorization holder is designated by CNCAN as a personnel certification body. In this case the practice permit may be issued by sub-levels.
- The level 2 practice permit allows the holder to carry out activities, in the field and speciality for which it was issued, for the authorization holder that issued it or that is mentioned by CNCAN in the practice permit.
Level 3 practice permit, by which CNCAN designates the radiation protection experts, specialists who have the knowledge and training needed to provide advice on the assessment of doses, on achieving effective protection of individuals and on the correct use of radiation protection means and equipment.
- The level 3 practice permit is issued in the holder's name and allows nuclear activities to be performed in the field and practice for which it was issued, in accordance with the provisions of the law, with any authorization holder.
