CNCAN ensures that all nuclear activities on the territory of Romania are carried out under optimal conditions, contributing to the protection of the public, of occupationally exposed personnel, of patients and, last but not least, of the environment against the risks associated with the conduct of nuclear activities.
CNCAN contributes to the prevention of undue risks to national security, to compliance with the international obligations undertaken by Romania in this field, as well as to the provision of information in order to ensure transparency in communication.
In achieving the objectives of its mission, CNCAN adheres to the principles of sound regulation, licensing and control – independence, openness, efficiency – which it applies in a realistic manner and in line with its organizational values and environment.
