CNCAN activities with a view to the renewal of the operating licence for Unit 2 of Cernavodă NPPCernavodă NPP presentation
Please be informed that, in accordance with CNCAN Order no. 81 / 2019, "Norms on decision-making transparency in the licensing process for nuclear installations", with a view to the renewal of the operating licence for Unit 2 of Cernavodă NPP, the Summary of the Nuclear Safety Report for Unit 2, together with a brief presentation of CNCAN's inspection activities for this nuclear installation, has been available for public information since 15.09.2020.
All interested parties may send comments, opinions, suggestions and observations in connection with the documents mentioned, up to and including 25.09.2020, to the e-mail address relatii.publice@cncan.ro , with the note "For the public consultation on the licensing of Unit 2 of Cernavodă NPP".
The deadline for receiving comments, opinions, suggestions and observations in connection with the documents mentioned, at the e-mail address relatii.publice@cncan.ro , is extended until 15.10.2020.
The comments, opinions, suggestions or observations received concerning these documents will be analysed and taken into consideration by CNCAN specialists in the licensing process.
1. Nuclear Safety Report for Unit 2 of Cernavodă NPP - Summary2. CNCAN inspection activities concerning Unit 2 of Cernavodă NPPOn 09.10.2020, between 10:00 and 14:00, an online public debate session will be held, at which it will be possible to submit comments, opinions, suggestions and observations relating to the process of renewing the operating licence for Unit 2 of Cernavodă NPP, and to the content of the Summary of the Nuclear Safety Report for Unit 2 and of the brief presentation of CNCAN's inspection activities for this nuclear installation.
Rules for the public debate of 9.10.2020 on the licensing of Unit 2 of Cernavodă NPP:
1. In order to take part in this event, interested persons must register by sending an e-mail to the address relatii.publice@cncan.ro. The e-mail must contain the surname, first name and purpose of participation, as well as a valid e-mail address. Only persons who have registered by the starting date of the meeting will be admitted to the videoconference.
2. By taking part in this event you acknowledge that you have read the Personal data protection policy published on the CNCAN website and you agree to the meeting being recorded. http://www.cncan.ro/gdpr/
3. Throughout the meeting, as long as you are not asking a question or taking part in the discussion, your microphone must be switched off in order to avoid any noise
4. When you wish to ask a question, start by pressing the RAISE HAND button and then write the question in the CHAT section. The questions will be noted and the answers will be given in the order in which the questions were asked. During the time allocated to the answer you will be able to switch on your microphone and ask for further clarifications. The answers will be given in chronological order, and the meeting moderator will ensure that this order is maintained.
5. When you are given the floor, please begin by introducing yourself.
6. Do not speak at the same time as the other speakers; use appropriate language and behave respectfully towards all participants in the meeting.

The session organized for the purpose of the public debate will be attended by the CNCAN specialists involved in the regulation, inspection and licensing of the nuclear installation and by the specialists designated by the licence applicant. The comments, opinions, suggestions and observations received from the public, together with the answers to them, will be recorded and set down in the minutes of the session, which will be available on the CNCAN website, in this section.
