Practice permits
• Permit
The practice permit is the document that allows its holder to carry out authorized activities in the nuclear field.
Practice permits are classified into 3 levels.
The permit must be issued before the activity in the nuclear field is carried out.
The practice permit is issued on the basis of an assessment and an examination.
The rights obtained on the basis of the practice permit are not transferable.
The examination of the personnel's knowledge may be carried out, as the case may be, by the authorization holder, by the National Commission for Nuclear Activities Control or by a body designated by CNCAN for the certification of personnel.
In the event of failure to attend, for well-founded reasons, the examination organized by CNCAN, the applicant for the practice permit may attend, without paying again the fee and the tariff provided for by the regulation in force, as a rule, the next examination session, after the appointment has been confirmed by the secretary of the examination board.
In the event of a first failure in the examination organized by CNCAN, the applicant for the practice permit may attend, as a rule, the next examination session, after the appointment has been confirmed by the secretary of the examination board and after payment of the examination fee and tariff, proven by the documents provided for by the regulation in force.
In the event of a second failure in the examination organized by CNCAN, the applicant for the practice permit must attend a radiation protection training programme appropriate to the field and level of the nuclear activity, endorsed by CNCAN; the applicant may sit a new examination for obtaining the practice permit 6 months after completing this training programme, provided that the conditions specified in these norms are met, including payment of the examination fee and tariff provided for by the regulation in force.
The examination syllabus is set out in Chapters VII, VIII and IX of the Norms on the issuance of practice permits for nuclear activities and the designation of radiation protection experts.
Methodology for conducting the examination for obtaining the level 1 and level 2 practice permit
·The examination questionnaire will contain 60 questions (20 questions on the basics of radiation protection, 20 questions on basic legislation and 20 questions on operational radiation protection) from the set of questions below (corresponding to the candidate's speciality).
·The questions will be selected at random, individually for each candidate, by computer.·There is only one correct answer for each question
·The duration of the examination is 90 minutes
·Candidates who correctly answer at least 80% of the questions in the questionnaire are declared to have passed
Set of questions
· The comments contain the minimum information required for a radiological safety culture for persons holding a level 2 practice permit
· Remarks on the set of questions may be sent to the e-mail address: chestionare@cncan.ro (Do not request other information at this address!)
