The radiological safety authorization for the product is the document issued by the Commission on the basis of Law no. 111/1996, certifying that the product meets the requirements of the regulations in the nuclear field and may be the subject of authorized activities in the nuclear field, for the purpose for which it was designed and manufactured.

The radiological safety authorization for the product is requested for each distinct type of radioactive material, radiological installation, ionizing radiation generating device, equipment for dosimetric monitoring of ionizing radiation or of the degree of radioactive contamination, material or device used for the purpose of protection against ionizing radiation, or means of containerization or transport specially designed for this purpose, which the applicant for the authorization intends to produce or import with a view to its use or marketing.

The authorization is issued at the request of the legally established entity that intends to produce or import the respective product.
