• Possession authorization
The possession authorization is issued for radiological installations or radiation sources owned by the applicant, if the applicant meets at least the following conditions:
a) has storage conditions that ensure physical security and radiological safety;
b) provides guarantees that the radiation sources will be used, transferred or handed over as waste in accordance with the legal provisions within a reasonable time, but no longer than two years;
c) the radiological installations or radiation sources have a radiological safety authorization for the product and were obtained by lawful means.

A possession authorization must be requested for radiological installations or radiation sources that are the subject of a dispute or for which the lawful authorization has expired, and it is issued only after their legal status has been clarified within the meaning of Law no. 111/1996, by decision of the competent bodies or by payment of the fine imposed by the Commission.
